Maurice Joppe

Maurice Joppe is a lawyer with a finely-honed commercial instinct, always keeping an eye on his client’s business interests. His technical background and interests enable him to be an effective sparring partner when it comes to technology and law related questions.

Maurice specialises in the contractual implications and aspects of intellectual property law, commercial law and e-commerce as well as privacy law. Maurice has extensive experience with (international) transactions and regularly advises and litigates cases involving commercial contracts and issues.

Before completing a research Master degree in Business and Law a the Radboud University Nijmegen specialising in Insolvency and commercial law, Maurice studied Healthcare Technology. Maurice commenced his legal career in 2011.

Commercial Law

Le Poole Bekema advised Canon Europe on, among other things, the insolvency of a contractual party. We also advised Canon on the application of a commercial agreement.

Commercial Law

Maurice Joppe represented the well-known Dutch television presentor Ivo Niehe in respect of the sale of his production company Niehe Media to MediaLane and advised him on all aspects of the sale.

Maurice has registered the following principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Intellectual property law. Based on this registration, Maurice is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
